Updated AI Terms-of-Use
Upgrades to newer GPT models Displayr AI - Terms of Use.
Check out our latest platform tools, features, and updates built specifically with you in mind.
You can now set a Period anchor when you aggregate a Date/Time variable to set the first day of each period. Pick any date, and all periods align to it. Weeks don't have to start on Monday, months don't have to start on the 1st, and fiscal quarters can align to whatever calendar you report against.
The control appears in the Date/Time Aggregation dialog whenever the aggregation is Weekly, Biweekly, 4 Weekly, Monthly, Quarterly, or Yearly. A Preview section shows the resulting periods before you commit.
We've updated the workspace to make it easier to stay focused on your work and access the tools you need.
The Data Preparation Agent now identifies categorical age variables and automatically hides empty age categories at the extremes of the range. If your survey targets adults and the "Under 18" band has no respondents, it won't appear in your tables and charts. The same applies at the top of the range (e.g., "70+" in a working-age study). Empty categories in the middle of the range are left visible. You can toggle this step off before running the agent if needed.
The Data Preparation Agent now automatically flags respondents who have given a high proportion of 'low information' responses (e.g., 'Don't know', 'Refused', 'Not applicable', and 'None'). Respondents who selected low information responses more than 25% of the time receive one flag; those who selected low information responses more than 35% of the time receive two flags; those who selected low information responses more than 45% of the time receive three flags.
These flags help to identify lazy respondents and bots in your data set, and are taken into consideration when the agent deletes poor quality cases from your data set.
Published Displayr documents now include an optional chat panel where viewers can ask questions about the document and its insights in plain language.
Instead of reading through every page to find what they need, viewers can type a question and get an answer with links to the relevant pages. Document creators enable the chat panel when publishing. For best results, outputs should be given meaningful names (e.g., "NPS.by.Age" rather than "viz.4") so the chat can find and interpret them accurately.
Two improvements for users who customize default page masters:
The "Treat as wave in statistical tests" feature now supports Binary-Multi variable sets.
You can now toggle on wave treatment for these variable sets and get "compare to previous period" significance testing, just like Nominal, Ordinal, and Date/Time variables. The Data Preparation Agent will also automatically detect Binary-Multi wave variables and toggle the setting on.
This is particularly useful for tracking data that uses rolling averages, where each respondent belongs to multiple overlapping time periods (e.g., "Jan–Mar 2026", "Feb–Apr 2026", "Mar–May 2026").
You can now control who can view and edit folders — and everything inside them — across both Documents and the Cloud Drive.
Company administrators can set permissions at the folder level, so there's no need to manage access on every individual document. Assign user groups to specific folders, and any documents or files created inside will automatically inherit those permissions.
This makes it practical for larger organisations to protect confidential work without the overhead of managing permissions one document at a time.
Now you can treat Nominal and Ordinal variables as waves in statistical tests.

We've added new steps to the Data Preparation Agent:
You can now preview AI-generated commentary before adding it to your document. Hover over the ‘Add Commentary’ button on the navigational toolbar to see a preview of the commentary. Add it to your page with one click, or modify your analysis goals to refine the result.
We’ve made it quicker and easier to work with page master slots. You can now drag and drop variable sets, text boxes, tables, visualizations and calculations directly into placeholders as follows:
We’ve updated menus throughout the app so that options that are not applicable to your selection are disabled. If you hover over a disabled option, a tooltip will describe the conditions under which the option will be enabled.
For users who don't have a regional guarantee (which is most users), we're migrating from Google's Gemini 2.0 to GPT-5.0 for most of our AI. This is a phased transition which will likely take about a month, and will lead to higher accuracy but some slower compute times for some AI features. See also Displayr AI - Terms of Use.
Vertical and horizontal scrollbars are now automatically enabled for Autofit or CreateCustomTable R tables in instances where your content does not fit the table. This removes the need to manually edit the R code. Scrollbars can be manually disabled/enabled in the Object Inspector, and are best used with customized column widths and row heights.
You can now search for both published and unpublished documents. Previously, only published documents appeared in search results. This update makes it easier to find documents, especially documents stored in folders.
You can now customize the text shown for the “(All)” and “(Select All)” options in multiple-selection combo boxes.
Two new fields have been added at the bottom of the Object Inspector when a multiple-selection combo box is selected:
This gives you more flexibility to match your combo box labels to your app’s tone and language.
You can now enter data from scratch or paste your spreadsheet data directly into Displayr in one of two ways:
1. Paste or enter data as a new data sourceThe Research Agent will now detect filters and weights in your dataset and apply them automatically before running its analysis.

Research Agent uses AI to automatically analyze data and generate a report.
This feature is currently a beta release.
To use: Add a data set and, in the Report tree, click + and Research Agent to generate an automated report containing analyses and insights. See Research Agent for more information.
Previously, some AI funtionality in Displayr required users to have their own OpenAI account and hook it up to Displayr. This is no longer required.
For all but the heaviest users, all AI usage is now included in Displayr for no additional cost. Please see Tracking Your Displayr AI Usage for more information.
The Displayr AI - Terms of Use have also been rewritten and expanded to contain much more information.
Some variables and outputs created using AI prior to February 2025 will stop working in a year and need to be redone. See Moving From OpenAI to Displayr AI for more information.
We've introduced significant improvements to the User Group screen to make managing user permissions even easier:
Add & remove members: You can now directly add or remove users from a group within the User Group screen—no need to navigate elsewhere.
Review user group access: Instantly see what assets each user group can access, along with their access levels (e.g., view, edit, etc.).
These updates provide greater transparency and control over user management and access configurations.
With the new recommender for Variable Set Inserter, you'll now see the most relevant options at the top when inserting a new variable. This helps you find what you need faster—no more scrolling through long lists or second-guessing your choice.
We’ve made it easier for new users to get started with Displayr. The improved UI guides users to focus on the most important first steps, helping them quickly understand and take action to build their analysis.
We’ve made Text Categorization even better with new features and enhancements to improve your workflow.
What’s New?
Undo/Redo history now contains the names of the users who performed each action, as well as allowing you to jump back multiple changes in a single undo action.
A confirmation message will also pop up to confirm that you intended to undo their changes, and they will receive a notification that their changes have been undone.
You can now control how many rows are displayed in calculation tables.
Adjusting the number of visible rows lets you reduce or eliminate pagination in favor of vertical scrolling. This gives you greater flexibility when designing layouts and helps you better manage space in dashboards and reports.
To change the number of rows, type a value into the Rows per page field, or choose from the dropdown list. When the table is on a page, an Auto option is also available—this automatically determines how many rows to display based on the table’s height.
This feature is especially useful for standalone tables (those not placed on a page), where now you have control over the table’s height.
You’ll find this setting at the bottom of your calculation table.
We’re making it easier to organize your reports. You can now right-click one or more outputs and select "Convert Outputs to Page(s)" to instantly create new pages from your selected outputs. Each output will be placed onto a page, and if a content slot is available, it will be positioned automatically. The new page’s title will also be set based on the output’s label.
You can now use AI to create custom widgets in Displayr, along with two additional widgets for common use cases.
1. Create custom AI widgets for your use cases The custom AI widget lets you write dynamic prompts and integrate any data from your report. This empowers you to use AI for tasks tailored to your specific needs, such as data interpretation, trend identification, Q&A for your data, and much more.
2. Additional AI widgets for common use cases We've also introduced two other widgets for popular tasks:

We’ve made it easier to create and view your analysis in Displayr! Previously, every output had to be placed on a page. Now you can add tables directly to your report.
When creating tables this way, more space is dedicated to viewing them. Displayr will automatically enlarge your tables to fit the space they need.
Try it out now by simply dragging your Variable sets directly up into the Report tree!
It is now possible to hide an item from exports and publishing independently.
This is useful in scenarios where you might have an interactive control on a dashboard that makes sense to see in a published document but not when exported to a PowerPoint file.
Read more about hiding items in this help article.
Hiding via the context (right-click) menu will always default to Hidden from exports & publishing.
Note: Hiding from publishing but not exports is not supported
Quickly find the action you need by searching through the menu.
