Displayr Privacy Overview and Compliance Statement

Our Commitment
At Displayr data security is a high priority for us. We operate to ensure compliance with all laws and regulations around the world, such as the GDPR and CCPA, which govern the processing of personal data. We have a firm commitment to the protection and safeguarding of the personal data that we collect and process, no matter where the data comes from. We constantly review and update all of our technical and security processes, policies and controls and have in place a real-time continuous monitoring system to ensure high standards of protection for the personal data entrusted to us. We do not sell your personal data to third parties, and we only use your personal data to give you the best possible experience with our software. We respect all consents communicated to us, including in relation to the use of cookies and related technologies.
Core Privacy Principles
Our approach to protecting your personal data is based on the following three principles:
  • Data Protection – we adopt robust data protection mechanisms, ensuring that your personal data is securely processed and stored.
  • Respecting Rights – you have control over your data and individuals can exercise their rights under applicable law, such as data access, amendment and deletion.
  • Transparency – we provide clear information about handling of your data and ensure that all data processing is communicated transparently to you.
We only process personal data as described in our privacy policy, and we do not discriminate against you or your data subject for exercising your rights, as mandated by CCPA requirements.
What Personal Data Do We Process
There are two categories of personal data that Displayr may have access to and our responsibilities with respect to each are different:
  1. Personal data that is part of your user accounts for Displayr or Q
  2. Personal data in data sources uploaded to Displayr or Q (i.e. your data)
1. Personal Data that is Part of Your User Accounts
We are transparent as to the purpose and use of the personal data that we collect.  We provide details as to which third parties will be in contact with this data. We need to collect certain limited amounts of personal data that include your contact details and records of your use of our software in order to provide you with our services and keep our business operating on a day-by-day basis.
2. Personal Data Contained in the Data You Provide to Us in Your Datasets
Datasets which you upload or connect to Displayr or Q for processing may contain personal data.  You are responsible for identifying this within your own datasets, and you are responsible for ensuring that you have appropriate permissions to share that with us. You must only upload personal data to Displayr and Q for legitimate and necessary reasons.  We encourage anonymization of your datasets where possible. If that is not possible, you should endeavor to minimize the personal data uploaded to that which is necessary for your requirements. You may export data from Displayr or Q (such as in a QPack, PowerPoint file, PDF or CSV file) and this export may contain personal data derived from the personal data that you originally imported.
Data Processing Agreements
We appreciate that protection of your personal data is an important part of our relationship.  As your service provider, we only use your personal data as permitted in our terms of service and described in our privacy policy. As your data processor, we understand that there are specific obligations that you are required to impose upon us. Section 8 of the General Conditions of the Displayr Terms of Use and Section 4.2 of the Q Software License Agreement directly incorporate the industry standard data processing obligations into our terms of use where required to cover international cross-border transfers of personal data, as required by the GDPR in the European Union, and their equivalents around the world. We have incorporated standard regulator-approved contractual clauses into our terms of business as required for our EU and UK customers.
Storage of Your Personal Data
Q is installed locally behind your own firewall and your data is not automatically transmitted to us. Our teams also do not have any built-in connection to your software that would enable them to access your personal data. Where R calculations are performed with Q, your data, which may include personal data, may be sent to our R servers. There is no storage or backup of this data. We currently have servers in the US, Canada, Western Europe, and Australia. For Displayr we do not guarantee on which server your data will be stored. If you require this guarantee you should speak to your Displayr contact.
